I wish Sherman Frederick published a newspaper like the Las Vegas Review-Journal in Houston. Sherman Frederick, on political oppression:
We’ve seen cattle ranches give way to railroads. We chronicled the construction of Hoover Dam. We reported on the first day of legalized gambling. The first hospital. The first school. The first church. We survived the mob, Howard Hughes, the Great Depression, several recessions, two world wars, dozens of news competitors and any number of two-bit politicians who couldn’t stand scrutiny, much less criticism.
We’re still here doing what we do for the people of Las Vegas and Nevada. So, let me assure you, if we weathered all of that, we can damn sure outlast the bully threats of Sen. Harry Reid.
Ha ha. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is a two-bit, bully politician. I’m thinking Sen. Reid might want to start thinking about his next job as a lobbyist.

The only glimmer of hope big liberal media has in this new era of long-tail fact-checking is to cover whats going on at FoxNews. There are 93 pages of comments on this LA Times story about Glen Beck reporting on Van Jones, former liberal activist with a group called Color of Change and current liberal activist helping Obama run the country.
Of course the story is biased right from the beginning:
Glenn Beck used his popular Fox News show this afternoon to attack the background of Van Jones, a White House environmental advisor who co-founded an African American political advocacy group that organized an advertising boycott of his program.
So reporting on a member of Obama’s administration is an “attack.” Racist at that.
This and articles like it are probably the only thing that get any hits over at the LA Times, mostly from Beck supporters in this case. You’d think the publishers would figure something out.
The Chicago Tribube gets similar results with their article on the subject. Check out the first paragraph of Tribune story :
FOX’s Glenn Beck used his popular program today to “attack the background of Van Jones, a White House environmental advisor who co-founded an African American political advocacy group that has organized an advertising boycott of his program,” as the L.A. Times’ Matea Gold notes in Show Tracker.
So reporting about another outlet’s reporting of whats happening at Foxnews seems to work as well. Politicians would do well to note the comments run about 95% anti-administration,

A perfect example of why California and America are failing:
Hoping to raise money for a family trip to Disneyland, the Tulare girl opened a lemonade stand Monday. But because Daniela didn’t have a business license, the city of Tulare shut it down the same day.
The girl probably now owes the city a couple hundred bucks in fines.
The economy is failing. The state is bankrupt. I’m sure the city of Tulare, CA is in decline as well and yet they see no problem or connection with stamping out the tiniest business enterprise.
When a liberal says they are gooing to help small business, you know they are lying through their teeth.
